Under the brand name Mr. McGregor's, we strive to provide high-quality products and outstanding customer service. We use advanced technology to help produce great-tasting, pesticide-free greens, herbs and more. Right now we need growers and engineers who Can supervise the growing of a range of products, Want to help develop technology (both mechanical and electronic), and Can help us provide outstanding customer service. We believe there are many reasons to seek a career with ARC: As a twenty-first century farm, we look at ourselves as a full-service grower. We sell only what we grow and do not sell on a commodity basis. Instead we pick fresh-to-order and emphasize personal service. For example, we grow and prepare mixes of salad greens tailored to the requirements of individual chefs. Chefs come and visit our greenhouses to seek and select products from our wide variety, and to share some ideas of their own. It is our belief that for farmers to prosper in the coming years they need to work directly with the people who consume what they grow. This is a more complex business model than the traditional farming model where the farmer grows a commodity and relies on others to bring the product to market. But in our opinion that traditional model offers the farmer insufficient financial rewards, which is why we're working with what we believe to be a business model for the future. As to the specifics of growing, we now offer over 50 products from our computer-controlled greenhouses. We supervise the growth of plants in two ways. First, our growers interact with the plants on a daily basis. In addition, they have computers in each greenhouse with which they monitor and fine-tune the environment on a 24/7 basis. All these computers, it should be noted, have been developed in-house, and all are interconnected on a network so that everyone on the property has access to up-to-the-minute information. This means problems can be identified and corrected before the plants get stressed from an out-of-bounds situation. Meanwhile we continue to develop a great deal of the greenhouse equipment we use. In fact, we recently designed what we think is a superior model for the greenhouses themselves. As a result, we now manufacture our own greenhouses. ARC is striving to make our greenhouse complex an exciting, challenging and rewarding place to work. We give people a chance to do their best. We can only achieve our business objectives if the people who run the farm on a day-to-day basis are encouraged to be creative and innovative, and to take pride in what they do.
